Family Fun Made Easy Family time is one of the most important elements in a child’s life. As we grow we will remember little things like when our parents read a particular book or the song our mother sang to us to help us sleep. We will remember when our dad carried us on his shoulders or when mom kissed our bobo to make it all better. This page and our community access program on October 2009 is the first of our Family Fun Made Easy shows (first airing on Sep 28, 2009). It is dedicated to Halloween and some of the family activities that surround it. The program included segments on safety, costuming, and some neat cooking ideas. Officer Brownlee of the Longview Police Department gave us some tips on safety around Halloween. He said the biggest tip is that we would skip traditional door to door Trick or Treating and attend some of the various activities around town such as Trick or Treating at the Mall or church events. These events are safer, there is less traffic to deal with and the treats are less likely to be tainted. An adult needs to go with the kids even if the kids think they are old enough to go by themselves and check all the treats before your child eats any of them. If you do go door to door take a flashlight and use reflective tape on the child’s costume. Be safe this Halloween and have fun. We showed you some ideas for simple costumes. It can be a lot of less expensive and fun for the parents and the kids to build a costume than just buy one. It does take a little time but a moment with you child can translate to a lifetime of memories. Our models showed you a little about makeup and a couple costume ideas. Get creative and have fun. Lastly we spend time with Chef David at Cooks Nook in Thank you for visiting our Family Fun Made Easy page. I hope you have the opportunity to see the TV show on the Community Access channel of
